@Sonya76 Thanks for stopping by! So true. I wish I had stopped long ago instead of forcing the story and making a mess of it.

I think you're totally right about stopping writing and stepping away from the screen if what you are writing is losing relevance. It's realising that this is the case that is difficult.

@Sharon S Schlesinger I use it for everything and it's so easy to export a document into an RTF or Word Doc.

@cecilieaux I like the colon too. I try to use it often when it's applicable. I'm also partial to the em-dash. I hate parentheses. They're hard to punctuate and the sentence looks clunky with them. That's why I rather use an em-dash.

@Sharon S Schlesinger Also check the gear function at the bottom of the page. I'll eventually download the PC version on my netbook and see how they differ.

I use Scrivener on a PC and some of the functionality has not been imported from the MAC version yet. I think the right click on the folder may be one of them.

@RebecaSchiller Thanks, Rebeca. I've been aware of HAND/EYE Magazine and the beautiful work happening there. Right now, I am swamped with deadlines. Maybe get back in touch with me later--in a few months? I'd think an article about some aspect of rare-breed sheep would be a good fit. There are undoubtedly other possibilities, too!

@robson.deborah Wow! Deb, that's impressive. On other topic, I'm the online editor of HAND/EYE Magazine. www.handeyemagazine.com. Would you like to contribute an article about spinning and your yarns? Take a look at what sort of stories we run, and maybe you can suggest a couple of ideas.
